Im Nahverkehr in den Philippinen werden zum grössten Teil Motorräder mit speziellen Seitenwagen eingesetzt. Lärm und Abgaswolken lassen sich eliminieren, wenn man elektrisch fährt. Speziell für diese Anwendung haben wir daher für Torrex Development Corporation in Dumaguete einen Elektroroller mit Seitenwagen entwickelt.

Die 5 Roller und die Akkus sind noch am Zoll, da ausgerechnet jetzt eine Reihe von offiziellen Feiertagen ist. Inzwischen können wir schon mal die Carosserieformen vorbereiten.

Vom Grundchassis werden die ersten Kontourlinien gezogen. 5mm Stahldraht ist da bestens und dank Rauls Erfahrung im Schweissen sofort fixiert.

Geeignete Kandidaten werden zur Kontrolle der Rundungen in den Käfig gesetzt. Passt ganz gut, auch für Jayvee. Sogar Big Mike kommt ohne Hilfsmittel rein und wieder raus.


Stück für Stück wächst der Käfig und das Gitter verdichtet sich. Auch geeignet, um hübsche Damen einzufangen ;)


Im Raum nebenan hat sich das Team der Laminatoren unter der Leitung von Kriss der Firma bcomp (www.bcomp.ch) bereits seit einer Woche mit der Technologie auseinander gesetzt und verschiedene Musterstücke gefertigt.


Aus Gründen der umfassenden Nachhaltigkeit machen wir Muster mit Faserverstärkung aus natürlichen Fasern wie Hanf oder dem im Nachbarort hergestellt Abaca-Stoff (siehe de.wikipedia.org).


Eine der Weberinnen bei der Arbeit. Es ist kein Heimatmuseum, sondern eine ganz normale Webergenossenschaft. Von der grauen Energie her wohl nicht mehr zu toppen, denn nur die Sparlampe an der Decke braucht etwas Strom, keine Airconditioning, keine Motoren und der Webstuhl ist komplett aus Holz gebaut.

Busy in the morning. The fast chargers arrive . . another big sum of Pesos is needed for the freight and customs and taxes. But they are as ordered, with US-plugs and long cables to plug into the socket on the SWAP.



While Raul is putting the wire frame outline of the seat bench together, the management heads of for an official invitation to Pieter & Rosita in their Villa Pedro.

We leave this sinking ship behind . . . ;)

Now we have the place to accommodate our key customers or business partners when they come for a visit . . . slightly more style than the Go-Hotels.



A most enjoyable lunch at the poolside pavillion with a swim before and after; Pieter served the most important people in this world, now he built his own palace here on the coast 10 km from Dumaguete. Perfect accomodation and service for selected guests only! We feel extremly honored.



Kriss had to catch his flight back home at 3 pm, otherwise we might have changed all our plans and take the afternoon off. So we head back to the workshop and help to get the wire frame ready for "foaming" tomorrow.

to communicate with the world and get the organisation organized.

Today is the foaming day: we need to turn the steel wire frame into a solid body surface.
We mix 4 liters of PU foam liquids together. Mixing, brewing and stirring is a girls job, while the CTO, Sir Ralph, is showing what will happen with this maple syrup within the next few minutes.



Then, because the girls are too small for this, the boys have to dip it over the wireframe, which was coverd before with cardboard on the inside.



The result is fairly groovy looking!



After curing a couple of hours, it is time for the big boys to scrape off the excessive, buldging skin desease.



To fill the open holes, we use the foam out of the spray can.



In case we will build the Tricycle for ADB, I just had a chance to see the front fork of an old bmw.
